To honor the remarkable life, leadership, and enduring legacy of our beloved former Executive Director, Sandra Mourton, the Energy Education Foundation has established the Sandra Mourton Legacy Scholarship Fund.
Sandra was the foundational pillar of the Offshore Energy Center, dedicating 21 years of selfless leadership to our organization from 2000 until her retirement in June 2021. Throughout her distinguished tenure, she touched countless lives and shaped the core mission of our foundation, spearheading the development and operations of the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum in Galveston, instrumentally expanding the Mobile Offshore Learning Unit (MOLU) to bring hands-on STEM education to thousands of students, and building an inspiring network of industry and community partnerships.
Sandra’s warmth, visionary spirit, and unwavering passion for empowering young minds left an indelible mark on our community. This dedicated scholarship fund ensures her legacy continues by directly supporting the next generation of women pursuing degrees and careers in STEM and energy fields – a cause that remained closest to her heart.
